It really is very effective if you are on a budget and your pool doesn't get a lot of large debris. It will keep your pool spotless.
A few warnings:
1) If your pool lacks a side port and you attach this to the skimmer, it may have too much suction even with the flow restrictor that comes with the cleaner. You can purchase a different model flow restrictor at your local pool store that is more adjustable. The one that comes with this cleaner is self adjusting. So, this cleaner works best from a side port.
2) Next, make sure the cleaner doesn't get stuck in the step area, this will wear out the bumper pretty quick (remember, this cleaner was made for an above ground vinyl pool). To prevent this, simply adjust the hose length or side return lines to push the cleaner out of the corners.
3) The fin disk (big blue round bottom part) tends to get caught up on the pool light. Just add 1 or 2 weights (none come with the cleaner so you will need to get them at a pool store) and the cleaner will stay below the light. This doesn't happen on every pool, just some.
All in all, it is a very good cleaner for the price. Very durable, many that I have installed are going on 2 plus years with no issues. If you need a bargain cleaner this is the one for you.
